A Deep Dive Into Being

ADAEE
Welcome to a glimpse into my own way of being. We all have life and live life, yet we all try to or simply understand life in different or maybe similar ways.
Life and living are still very vague words to me. What is life and what does it take to be alive - to be living? I'm still yet to understand how everything works. Yet each day I live, I take my own shaky steps , holding my own shaky breaths trying to navigate and understand what my soul sings to me.
So, welcome to another shaky breath, one that is out in the world, like a gasp of air just trying to exists in a world of gasping air. Welcome to my website.

Live life, embrace it, experience it, enjoy it.

My Art
Projects

Vulnerability in Dance
Failure Project
This project gave us the freedom to experiment and attempt things we've always wanted do do in our art, but have been to scared to and try out techniques we haven't tried before. I've always been into contemporary dance, and I've always wanted to try it, but never had the confidence to, but the freedom to fail in this project gave me the confidence to just try it and enjoy it.

Journal
Text and Image Project
A journal can be read, arranged and experienced in different ways. After writing a journal, what more can you create from it? Through the process of re-creating my journal, I learnt so many things, understood some new stories, re-learnt some old lessons and was able to see how some old stories fit in or see how even months after some messages are still up in the air yet to be digested. A journal holds a world of memories and experiences. It can serves as the baseline of an entire timeline of a part of your life.

Inside my Mind
Self-Directed 1
With this open ended project, I was able to experience art the way I wanted too - freely and without expectation or a fixed topic. In the process of simply making, art became a tool that helped me understand and process my emotions. What were unprocessed and intangible feelings, became tangible feelings that i could process and translate through the process of creating. I was able to create works, in which I could address and analyse how I was feeling and surprisingly find solutions to the issues that surfaced through the creation. This project opened me up to a new way of viewing and experiencing art.

'I Remember'
Self-Directed 2
This project delved deep into the roots of my Africanity. It arose questions about my past, my history and my heritage. Understanding what it means to be African, and to see Africa. To see my history, to see my ancestors and to recognize myself in them. The project inspired a chain reaction of deeper self-refection into all that is me, into all that is African and into what is actually my history and understanding the weight of that. Understanding the love, power and confidence that comes with seeing, embracing and living my Africanity.
